Two Grade 6 students and 5 secondary students attended the Emirates Airlines Festival of Literature in Dubai on March 9 and 10. Ms. Brewer and Ms Sarah were the chaperones. Students attended numerous author sessions, learning about what inspires authors and the process they use to create their novels.<\/p>\n

Some sessions were via video conference with more than 100 people in attendance, others were more intimate with fewer than 20 parents, teachers and students in attendance.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Following the sessions, authors were available to sign books and talk with students.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Al Batinah International School was very well represented by its students. They were respectful audience members, who asked great questions of the authors during question time!<\/p>\n

Although students in Grades 6-10 attended from ABIS, it is worth mentioning that there were many sessions geared to younger audiences(Grades 1 and up). Parents of younger Primary students might want to think about making a trip with their family to Dubai for next year’s Festival. This year was the 10th annual festival.
