G12 TOK students have been probing into the fundamental question, \u201cwhat\u2019s the right thing to do?\u201d as they explore Ethics as an area of knowledge in their first unit of the year. Questions concerning the most hotly contested moral and political issues like: bioethics, torture, rights versus responsibilities, the value we put on things, including the value we put on life itself. We are asking those tough questions like, Is torture ever justified? Would you steal a drug that your child needs to survive? Is it sometimes wrong to tell the truth? How much is one human life worth? Ethics is about us as humans and how we use reason and morality to respond to situations that we find ourselves in, in the best way we can. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

This week we had the chance to view one of the most influential teachers of our time, Michael Sandel who teaches political philosophy at Harvard University.
