We piled into the van and took the hour&#8217;s drive (30km on crazy roads) to Colombo for a bit of souvenir shopping. The capital city is pretty much what you\u2019re imagining right now: a concrete jungle with more McDonald\u2019s than law-abiding drivers. It has a very pretty coastline and many religious idols and monuments to independence (I hope our driver wasn\u2019t taking in any of these sights).<\/p>\n<p>Back at the guesthouse we held a team meeting before dinner. Mr. Provencher led a discussion about finishing the trip on a high note and pushing to reach our goals. One student summed it up best, I think, when she said that now it\u2019s about attitude. More than ever we need to maintain our focus and positive energy, right to the last brick.<\/p>\n<p>Forecast calls for sunshine for the rest of our stay.
