Using Geoboards, together we developed a list of as many different types of triangles as we could find on a 9&#215;9 Geoboard (see photos below). There were many ways of learning from these triangles, like studying their characteristics, finding their area and perimeter using algebra, and learning new vocabulary, like the word \u201ccongruent\u201d meaning same size and shape.&nbsp;<br \/>\nMaking assumptions about the size of each side, students then focussed on proving which triangle was the smallest, the next smallest and all the way up to the largest. This was a great introduction to algebra and the practice of \u201ccombining like terms&#8221;, a foundational inquiry into algebra.
