The boys were up first and it was apparent with the first basket from the Indian School boys that we were in for a tough game. The boys quickly settled however and with good baskets from David, Isaac and Klint were back in the game ending up by 6 points at half time. The second half turned into a torrid affair with the opposition turning to a tough man to man defense that flustered our boys and caused a number of turnovers and easy baskets. Our boys fought valiantly to the final whistle to go down by 1 point 38-39. David was our top scorer with 25 points and Isaac 7 and Klint 6. For ABIS Williams was exceptional in defense and was well supported by Shalin, Jed and Newton.
\nThe girls was an equally exciting game being played at a very high pace with a lot of skill being shown by our young players. Once again the Indian School team scored first before our girls got going and they also led by 6 points at half time. The Indian School girls turned up the heat in the second half and fought back to within a point before the final whistle blew giving our girls a 15-14 victory. Sanna was our top scorer with 13 points and was well assisted by Taya who scored 2 points and stole the ball on countless occasions. The teamwork and passing from all the girls was exceptional with Courtney, Lotus, Nuru, Greta and Jaira all having fantastic games.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
We hosted two games of basketball at ABIS this week with our senior boys and 12&U girls playing the Indian School.
